CEPS Carbon Market Forum

CEPS Carbon Market Forum

The CEPS Carbon Market Forum - launched on December 14, 2011 - is initially designed as a three-year programme, presenting an umbrella for its carbon market-related activities. It will provide for a neutral space, where policy-makers and regulators will be able to meet carbon market participants and other stakeholders to discuss carbon market regulation and general policy issues.

It will be headed by Andrei Marcu, Senior Advisor at CEPS. The discussion will take place in a structured and solution-oriented way, in order to enrich the rigorous intellectual analysis, which is the contribution that CEPS brings to the debate. Thereby, the "CEPS Carbon Market Forum" will aim to provide the underpinning for "revitilizing and expanding carbon markets" through dialogue and analysis on markets and market mechanisms, including on:

  • international climate change policy,
  • linking with other markets,
  • international offsets and their role now and in the fture,
  • new mechanisms,
  • dialogue with non-EU countries, OECD countries, emerging economies, other developing countries, OPEC, etc.

The CEPS Carbon Market Forum is open to researchers, NGOs, experts and other stakeholders, filling a gap in the institutional 'climate landscape'. It will be a place where all views will be welcomed, ecouraged, and listened to.
