Anna-Elisabeth Thum works on employment and education related matters. After graduating in economics from the University of Lausanne (HEC) and the University of Mannheim with a specialization in applied econometrics, she wrote her PhD on the role of personality for the labour market integration of immigrants in Germany at the European University Institute in Florence under the supervision of Professor Richard H. Spady (Johns Hopkins University) and Professor Jérôme Adda (University College London). Until recently she was a visiting scholar at ECARES (Université Libre de Bruxelles). She worked at the New Zealand Institute of Economic Research (NZIER) and as a consultant to the OECD in the International Migration Division.
